Ms. Anna Spindler joined the United Nations in June 2006 and continues to plays a crucial role in delivering goods and services to support persons of concern around the world. Ms. Spindler continues to advance the agenda of efficiency, effectiveness and responsive delivery within the Supply Chain arena. She established a strong track record in emergency response where she demonstrated a proven ability to strengthen and inspire teams, to lead change initiatives and to streamline processes to create agile supply chains in some of the most difficult operating environments. Over the past eleven years, Ms. Spindler served three United Nations agencies; the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). She currently is the Head of Supply Chain and Logistics at UNHCR based in Budapest, Hungary. All of the various roles Ms. Spindler held were in the Supply Chain Management and Operations field. She served in deep field emergencies such as Pakistan, to Country Office locations such as Uganda to Headquarters positions in Denmark and Hungary. Before her UN career, Ms. Spindler worked for thirteen years in the private sector also in Supply Chain Management for well-known industry leaders such as Toyota Motor Corporation, Intel Corporation and Fujimi Corporation. While at Fujimi Corporation, a manufacturing leader in the high technology field of Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP), she rose steadily to become the senior most Supply Chain professional at the company transforming the original unit from an order-taking function to a global strategic sourcing department. Ms. Spindler graduated in 1993 from Michigan State University in Michigan, U.S.A. majoring in Marketing. In 2008, she earned her Master of Business Administration from Marylhurst University, in Oregon, U.S.A. and in 2014 earned a MCIPS from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply in the United Kingdom. An American national, Ms. Spindler was born in Michigan, U.S.A. in 1971 and since has travelled to over sixty-five countries. English is her mother tongue and she speaks intermediate Spanish.
