Program Management Officer, WASH, International Programs Group
Oliver Wright is a humanitarian and WASH practitioner with significant experience covering fragile contexts, including at World Vision where he has served as a WASH Program Management Officer for the past year. Oliver frequently travels to Africa and the Middle East supporting a diverse portfolio of WASH programs – including the responses to the Syria crisis and the drought in southern Africa. Prior to moving to Washington, D.C., Oliver worked in South Sudan as the WASH Cluster Co-Lead at UNICEF, on secondment from Medair. Oliver is passionate about empowering and protecting the poor and vulnerable through WASH assistance, and draws upon his past experience in governance and human rights organizations. This includes work in Thailand where he supported International Justice Mission’s programming among stateless ethnic minority hill tribe populations. Oliver holds a BSc in Politics & Sociology from the University of Bristol, UK and he is currently completing an MSc in Public Policy & Management through SOAS, University of London.
