Susana M. Rojas Williams serves as the Director of International Shelter Initiatives at Habitat for Humanity International, where she provides technical and advisory support to housing and human settlement programs around the world. Susana is an urban planner and architect with extensive experience in the technical and policy aspects of urban development, housing, land and infrastructure with particular focus on pro-poor and community-based approaches as well as support to self-managed incremental housing processes. She holds a Master in City Planning and a Master of Science in Architecture Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Professional Degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas. Before joining Habitat for Humanity, Susana worked with UN-HABITAT, the World Bank Institute, and the Center for Reflective Community Practice and the Special Interest Group in Urban Settlement at MIT. She has professional experience working in Latin America, Southeast Asia, South and Central Asia and Northern Africa.
